Fundraising
YOU CAN HELP!
REACT fundraises for project-specific activities with clear objectives and visible results and outputs, not faceless donations. Whether you are an individual or a school, university or other community organization you have an opportunity to engage with refugees and improve their lives by opening a channel of communication with students and teachers in the refugee camps.
Each donation goes transparently to supply education materials and goes directly to feed the learning needs of the students and teachers.
REACT would be delighted if you as a group or individual could organise a fundraising event to raise awareness about refugee issues and money for the children in the region who desperately need our help.

A few ideas on how to support the Darfur Book Project
There are several ways to raise money, here below are a few ideas which may help your school or group. Universities, individuals and others may wish to contact REACT to discuss other possible fundraising possibilities:
1. Your small change can make a big difference!
Whilst a few pennies are not worth much in the UK, they could make a big change to a child’s future in Darfur. They can buy a pencil and a book that can open the door to an education and offer hope of a brighter future for children that have lost everything. For instance, you could organise the collection of small change for a month in your school, university, workplace or local community. Individuals and groups could do this by asking friends and colleagues to turn out their pockets and donate their small change, or by targeting businesses or local groups who might be able to give small change for the good cause.
2. Raise money by organising a sale or raffle!
REACT supporters, have held garden sales, cake sales, old book sales, home-made craft items, and raffles to raise money for REACT’s projects. Maybe you could get friends, families and local businesses to donate some excellent prizes for a raffle or an auction. The options are endless!
3. Organise a sports day or team event!
Locate a local route that could be used for a marathon, bike-a-thon, or walk-a-thon, or your chosen sporting event. Create a Sponsorship Form that includes the purpose of your event, and space for sponsors to include their Name, Address, Pledge Amount, and the Date. Advertise by word-of-mouth, in the local newspaper, in schools, churches, etc. When the event is over, collect the funds and inform REACT.
4. Organise an event or performance such as a play, concert, or exhibition!
Put on a play or student show or exhibit some arts or crafts in order to raise money for REACT. Proceeds from tickets for the event would go directly towards buying textbooks for the children of Dar fur. Use tickets or event programmes to spread the word about REACT.
Remember! you can Gift Aid your donation. Ask REACT for more information.
